This blog will track the training of a hearing ear dog. I'm a professional dog trainer, mostly teaching obedience classes. I especially enjoy teaching puppy classes, and I own several deaf dogs that I have trained with hand signals. Disclaimer: This is not an instruction manual, nor is it intended to be a guide for YOU to train YOUR dog. It will contain no detailed instructions. From time to time, it may include a very general description of an exercise but it is NOT TO BE FOLLOWED because it is INCOMPLETE. If you want the instructions, email me and I will point you to some training resources in your area, or find a trainer on the International Association of Canine Professionals website at http://dogpro.org
Real Name: Tracy Doyle.
I wear many hats. Besides freelance writing, dog training and music research, I also have done time as a newspaper reporter, a production supervisor for a large candy manufacturer, a cost accountant, a waitress, bartender and even a sandwich-maker. I love public speaking!
I'm menopausal, opinionated and generally a high-maintenance bitch. I'm full of advice, which is worth at least what you're paying for it.
Things I fear most are the Animal Rights movement, the loss of common sense in America (right along with manners) and men who are mysteries unto themselves.
I'm as much a traditionalist as I am a conservative, although I'm often perceived as the latter. I do tend to vote that way.
